Like Old Times Part II

So I did some minor manipulations, and I mean minor, I'm just too lazy to get off my laptop which doesn't have photoshop to the other computer that has it. Maybe I'll redo these photos but I'm sort-of happy with these for now. The sepia filter makes the photo more summer-hazy and nostalgic which I like. I was thinking about redoing them with the red showing through on the bike. Yet I'll leave it for next time when I'm not feeling so lazy.....

Like Old Times

Just taking my camera out for a minute or two around my backyard, and what do I stumble upon but my old bike! This was also my mum's childhood bike, and it was a little depressing seeing it how it was all overgrown with grass, had aquired a few spidery friends and such-like things. Thought I would take a few snaps and I'll post what changes I make in the next post to show the nostalgia I felt seeing my old bike.

It's Grave Work

Ok, just realised how much I've been not blogging, last time was in september! I swear I've been busy doing work and work like things, plus it was mid semester break and I spent many hours pondering what to do next since I had seemed to have hit a brick wall in work. Well not so much anymore, and I feel like I achieved a lot since I've been spending a few hours on photoshop (finally have it!) which hopefully will make future classes easier now that I have an idea of where most things are, and I'm one of those people who will never read the instruction manual, I learn by experimenting.
Anyway, to what I have been doing this week, cooped up in my lair, recovering, and doing things on photoshop :D

I had kidnapped my friend again (the same one from the light painting experiments) and we found a secluded corner in Box Hill cemetery and took some photos. I just really played with the layers and colours, getting a feel for how layers work in photos. I still didnt really have it nutted down yet, but now I do, from about 20 edited photos. Anyway, here are some of the untouched photos:

And now for the edited ones:

Experimenting with Light Painting

The wonders of light painting! I'm not very good at it yet so I'm determined to experiment more until I get better.
Here's my sort of first attempt at it in my front yard

Test Shot

Look closely and you can see my shoe :P

Last week I borrowed my friend Lizzie and went to the local park (after a macca's run) to do some experimenting with light.

Used a combination of the flash from the camera and the torch for this image

Only used the torch to light Liz here

Only the torch here again

Used the torch at a low angle here
And last night I crashed at my friend Sarah's house to experiment again.
